History

Robert M. Alexander learned the importance of hard work early. His paper route customers appreciated his dedication, reliability and sense of purpose and rewarded him with both monetary and business tips. He used these lessons to his advantage during high school when he went on to excel as a retail salesman, learning the true worth of customer service. College added another dimension when he worked as a courier and began to appreciate the value people place on timely solutions.

Armed with a strong belief in his relationship-building skills and a business plan he developed for his senior thesis, Alexander launched Errands Plus after graduating from college. The one-car delivery service geared towards senior citizens and operated out of his parents' basement for the first three years. Employing family and friends, Alexander reinvested every penny as he built his cash-based business.

When Errands Plus became RMA Chauffeured Transportation in 1988, the one-car company had grown into a fleet of cars driven by chauffeurs personally trained by Alexander to exhibit extraordinary customer service skills.  Now RMA retains more than 200 employees and a fleet of over 110 cars, vans, stretch limousines and minibuses that are recognized for their visibility and ability to handle jobs of all sizes. The RMA staff has pleased thousands of individual and corporate clients through its attention to detail and exceptional service.
